SUBJECT: Banner Maintenance
SYSTEMS IMPACTED: All Banner Modules
CAMPUSES IMPACTED: Statewide
TIME OF OUTAGE: 6 a.m. – 10 a.m., Sunday, February 12, 2012

Technical staff will be applying maintenance to the Banner system on Sunday, February 12. During the maintenance activity, all Banner modules (including Finance, Student, Financial Aid, and Human Resource) will be down and INB and My Ivy Tech/(SSB) will be unavailable. Operations will not process production jobs for any Banner modules that are scheduled through AppWorx. Production processing in AppWorx will resume after the maintenance is completed. This outage is expected to last approximately four hours beginning at 6 a.m. and completing at 10 a.m. ODS/Discoverer should not be affected by this maintenance.

UPCOMING MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES

9/11 – Exchange Maintenance – Statewide – 6:00 – 9:00 a.m.

The Technical Staff will be applying maintenance to the Exchange (staff/faculty email) servers on Sunday, September 11th. The maintenance will last approximately three hours beginning at 6:00 a.m. During the maintenance, there will be intermittent interruptions of email services. During these interruptions, staff will not be able to send or receive emails through OWA, smart device synchronization or pushes and the Outlook client. Incoming emails will be queued and sent after when the email service is available.

If you have changed your Email+ theme, try changing it back to the default Ivy Tech theme.

Check your internet connection speeds. If you have a very slow connection you may experience timing out when trying to load Email+. You can check your connection speed at www.speedtest.net.

UPCOMING MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES

8/28 – Banner Maintenance – Statewide – 5:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (all times EDT)

The Technical Staff will be upgrading the Accounts Receivable and Financial Aid Banner modules on Sunday, August 28th. During these upgrade activities, all Banner modules including Finance, Student, Financial Aid and Human Resources will be down and INB and My Ivy Tech (SSB) will be unavailable. AppWorx will also be down and Operations will not be processing Banner production jobs. Production processing in AppWorx will resume after the upgrades are completed. This outage is expected to last approximately 7 hours beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.

9/11 – Exchange Maintenance – Statewide – 6:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Reminder—Weekend outage to all Ivy Tech systems begins tonight (7/22)

The Office of Information Technology will be relocating the Data Center beginning tonight, Friday, July 22 at 8pm (EST) to Monday, July 25 at 6am (EST). During this time period all Ivy Tech systems (except Blackboard) will be unavailable. This includes Banner INB, Banner SSB/My Ivy Tech, email, Campus Connect, www.ivytech.edu, internet and phone services at every campus.

All Ivy Tech System Outage 7/22 – 7/25

7/22 Data Center Relocation 8:00 p.m.

The Data Center Relocation begins on Friday, July 22 at 8pm
(EST) and will go through Monday, July 25 at 6am (EST). During this
time period, all Ivy Tech systems (except Blackboard) will be unavailable. The
affected systems include:

o Banner INB & related applications
o Banner SSB/My Ivy Tech
o Email
o Campus Connect
o www.ivytech.edu
o Internet access at every campus
o Network-based campus phone services

Advanced notice of weekend outage to all Ivy Tech systems

We will be moving our servers beginning on Friday, July 22 at 8pm. During this time, the Ivy Tech website, email+, and Campus Connect will be unavailable. Blackboard will not be affected.

Prepare early so that this outage does not disrupt your plans. You will be unable to register for fall classes, view your tuition bill or financial aid information, or sign up for payment plans for the fall semester during this time. We will work to bring the website back up by Saturday, July 23, but please understand the outage could last through the weekend.

Weekend Maintenance Activities – 5/28-29

Banner INB/My Ivy Tech will be brought down at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday to upgrade the Finance module. All Banner modules including Human Resources, Finance, Financial Aid, Student A/R and Student will be unavailable during this upgrade. No production AppWorx jobs will be run during the maintenance. The ODS refresh will not be run on Saturday night.

6/05 –Hardware Maintenance – Statewide – 6:00 – 10:00 a.m.

There will be hardware maintenance on June 5th that will affect several production applications. During this time users will experience rolling outages as the maintenance is applied across the different systems. The affected systems include:

· White Pages

· DMS

· Help Desk System (HIM)

· FTP services

Logged in users will be bumped from the systems for five to 10 minutes as they are restarted to apply the maintenance.

6/05 – Banner INB / My Ivy Tech (SSB) – Statewide – 6:00 – 10:00 a.m.
